LIVES IN HARMONY
About Me.
Hello! My name is Heather Hess and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. I believe in the power of a good laugh and a warm heart to make challenging moments a bit easier. With a blend of compassion, humor, and deep understanding, I’m here to support you in navigating your unique path to well-being. We’ll work together to explore your thoughts and feelings, and I’ll bring both my knowledge and a touch of levity to our sessions. I aim to make our sessions a space where you feel heard, understood, and even find some joy along the way. I’m excited to meet you and begin this collaborative adventure towards healing and growth.
I graduated from Xavier University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working in community mental health, public schools, and private practice. I have experience working with a wide variety of individuals and issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, LGBTQ+, grief, women’s issues, and couples/relationships. I appreciate the diversity and individuality of all people, recognizing the rights of all human beings to be treated with respect and dignity.
I am trained in play therapy and Gottman Method relationship therapy (level 1). I enjoy working with clients of all ages and helping individuals reach their full potential.
My self-care includes writing, swimming, taking my dogs on walks (or car rides for a pup cup), listening to podcasts, laughing with friends and family, celebrating/planning parties, and researching ancestry.
My favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: "“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."
Thank you for being here and reading my story. I hope to meet you soon!
